Marietta Police Department Wellness Officer Jonnie Moeller-Reed explains that while it’s difficult enough to recruit someone willing to devote themselves to public service and to wear a gun every day, additional effort and resources need to go toward keeping officers healthy and mentally well. Officer Moeller-Reed developed the Wellness Officer role when she witnessed the need firsthand working for more than 20 years in law enforcement.
