Commissioner Michael Nail started his career as a probation officer and worked in all aspects of corrections before serving as the first commissioner of The Georgia Department of Community Supervision (DCS) following its formation in 2015. Recognizing employment, housing, mental health services and addiction services as central to the success of supervised offenders, DCS emphasizes working within the community for successful reunification.
